Hospitality

A hotel is no longer constructed linearly or only based on aesthetics and functionality; appropriate design considers all elements of the visitor’s stay, both tangible and emotional. Hotels became venues that allow people to connect with the culture of the region they are visiting, open new realms of knowledge, feel, explore, relax, and even self-reflect through new experiences.

The followings guidelines are considered in the design of a hospitality venue:

Safety and Emergency Response
Safety and Emergency Response must be considered in hotel design to ensure the safety of guests, staff, property, and assets, as well as the vulnerability of the space.

Acoustics
The control of sound is of paramount importance in hotels to guarantee guests comfort and privacy.

Durability
With high traffic and usage by numerous guests, durability is an important factor for hotel assets, especially when considering the cost of maintenance that may be incurred.

Hygiene
In the hospitality sector, hygiene refers to the cleanliness and appearance of hotel spaces like rooms, lobby, washrooms, and kitchen. It is critical to select materials that do not develop mold and can endure repeated cleaning.

Aesthetics
Design and look are critical in establishing a high-quality interior atmosphere for the hotel, particularly with inside finishes, which may either deter guests or, if specified correctly, give an added level of luxury and sophistication.

Sustainability
Hotels have a big influence on the neighborhood’s economy and ecology. They generate a lot of garbage and require a lot of energy and water. Because of this, hotels must be designed and built with sustainability in mind.
